Would you be interested in joining 1% for the planet?
This question was launched by the Director of the Fondation Nature et Découvertes when he visited us in 2017. Surprised, we looked at each other but were immediately attracted by the proposal: because this commitment is full of meaning for us in relation to our activity and our products which are oriented towards the organic and respect for the planet.
1 % for the Planet is a global movement which groups together more than 3500 bodies all over the world who give 1% of their turnover to environmental protection associations. A few months later, in April 2018, terre d’Oc joined the prestigious club founded by the creator of Patagonia in 2002.
Since we have been approved for the 1%, we have been able to help, via the Fondation Nature et Découvertes:
20 associations to set up their project by taking part in committees organised by the Foundation.
The committees take place every year to select projects on the topic of education around nature or biodiversity. A time when you can meet experts, rub shoulders with federations for the protection of nature and get to know the staff of Nature et Découvertes associated with the deliberations.
In addition to this, every year in October, we take part in the meeting which groups together those who contribute to the 1 % in Paris, (lRAP) for a collective fundraising to support other associations who defend their project directly . And each time, it's a real breath of fresh air, where convinced entrepreneurs meet committed project initiators committed to change on a daily basis!
