The right way to prepare a traditional maté
1 - Gather your yerba maté of choice, a calabash, and a bombilla
2 - Fill the calabash 2/3 full with yerba maté
3 - Shake the calabash up and down while keeping the maté in place with the palm of your hand
4 - Tilt the calabash to distribute the maté to one side, then insert the bombilla
5 - Hot maté: Pour in a small amount of lukewarm water and let it absorb for 2 to 3 minutes, then fill with water at 80°C and let steep for 3 to 4 minutes
Iced maté: Fill with very cold water and ice cubes
6 - Enjoy with the bombilla! Maté leaves can be infused 10 to 12 times throughout the day!
